These three adorable girls are from tutorials in Karen Campbell's new book, "Whimsical Watercolor and How to Draw Series Widdle Women Edition Book 1."
For these girls I used Fabriano hot press watercolor paper. Each girl was drawn using a Graphgear 1000 Pentel Pencil. I added shadow with a Blackwing-Matte Pencil and a blending stump. I painted them with an assortment of palettes from Prima and Jane Davenport. I used Molotow Blackliners for their outlines and for small colorful detail I used Master's Touch Fineliner Markers. Highlights were done with a Gelly Roll Pen. Karen gives detailed suggestions of what to use for these girls, but also says use what you have!
I followed Karen's step by step details for each girl. Their names are Sleepy Sue, Awesome Aria and Rainbow Rose. They were so much fun to work on. I'll be back to paint more girls from this inspirational book.
