These six women are from tutorials in Karen Campbell's book, "Whimsical Watercolor and How to Draw Series Widdle Women Edition Book 1."
For these two pages of women I used Fabriano hot press watercolor
paper. The girls were drawn using a Graphgear 1000 Pentel Pencil. I added
shadow with a Blackwing-Matte Pencil and a blending stump. I painted
them with an assortment of palettes from Prima and Jane Davenport. I
used Molotow Blackliners for their outlines and for small colorful
detail I used Master's Touch Fineliner Markers. Highlights were done
with a Gelly Roll Pen. There are detailed suggestions of what to use
for the girls, but Karen also says use what you have!
I followed Karen's step by step details for the women, who's names are Adorable Ali, Lil ol' Linda, Giddy-Up Gail, Sweet Sara, Bookworm Wendy, Quiet Quinn. They were so much fun to work on. I'll be back to paint more girls from this fabulous book.

Awesome drawings. I love the texture you've got on the hairs. All these women are fantastic. Thanks for joining us at A Place To Start. Hugs, María.
