No surprise here, I love drawing in my Strathmore Toned Tan sketchbook. This is Boudica a warrior princess in graphite from a tutorial by Lucy Brydon for Awesome art School.
I watched Lucy's tutorial on video and began the drawing using her lesson for the face. Later I turned the videos off and challenged myself to draw the rest freehand, while looking at a small print of Lucy's drawing.
I began the drawing using my Graphgear 1000 Pentel pencil. Later I switched to a Blackwing - Matte pencil and used a blending stump for shading. I used a white Prismacolor pencil for highlights.
When I first saw the tutorial for Boudica, I wasn't sure my drawing skill was up to it. But I was up to the challenge and love the finished!
