Scrapbook Pages for Granddaughter

I'm taking this time to work on my granddaughter's scrapbook. This wonderful young girl turned 12 this past November. She continues to display her many talents in both dance on the competition team and is an "A" student in the gifted program in grade school. It goes without saying , her grandparents couldn't be more proud of her. I have post both the two page layouts, but also the pages singly, so you can get a better look at the designs.

I used my Cricut and Cricut Gypsy to help designing these pages. The cartridges used were: Billionaire, Fancy Frames and my newest and perfect one, Shall We Dance! I expect to get a lot more use out of the last two cartridges, in the coming months, as my granddaughter dances at several venues, with her team.

Scrapbook Pages for Grandson

I am taking a short break from my cardmaking. I have one more try fold card to show off, but that can wait a week or maybe two!

I'm finally getting caught up with my grand-children's scrapbooks. Here are some recent pages, I made for my grandson.

I used my Cricut die cut machine and my Cricut Gypsy to cut the shapes used in these pages. The cartridges I used were the Billionaire, Fancy Frames and Flower Shoppe. For more recent pages come back again and see the ones I have done for my lovely dancing granddaughter!

Framed Becky Card

A couple of weeks ago I shared a card I made using the two stamps to make the front and back of a little girl. For this card I am using those same stamps along with my Cricut! Now she can either look out the window or from a picture frame!
Stamp Becky (Art Impressions stamp UMT1519) using Stazon ink on 140 lb. cold press watercolor paper and color her with Tombow watercolor markers. Cut her 2 pieces out and glue them together.
Using the Cricut die cutting machine and the Fancy Frames cartridge cut a matching pair of frames at 2".

Cover the front of an A2 card with pretty printed paper. Beacon 3 in 1 glue is great.

Check to see where to place the frame inside the card, according to where Becky can stand.
Trace the inside of the frame, to show where the first matt knife cuts should be.

Slightly enlarge that window using scissors.
Glue the inside frame in place.
Glue the matching outside frame in place.

Glue Becky looking outside the window.

If you like glue a picture across from Becky, so she will have a background behind her as she looks outside.
A few Becky cards!

Monogramed Decorative Coasters

So sorry I been busy all week taking care of the grandchildren and trying to kick a recurring sinus infection.

I am still designing decorative tile coasters and thought a monogram would be nice. I used the same supplies:
Ceramic tile, printed and solid scrapbook paper, Mod Podge and Krylon Clear Finish.

Apply Mod Podge to both the tile and the back of a 3 3/4 printed paper.
Place the paper on the tile and smooth it out to avoid bubbles.
Apply Mod Podge on the back of a 2 1/2" solid color letter (I used Cricut Classic Font) and place it on the printed paper.
Apply Mod Podge to all about 4 times, letting it dry between applications.
Spray the clear finish over the tile again about 4 times letting it dry between sprays.
When the tiles are completely dry, place felt adhesive pads on all 4 corners on the back of the decorative coaster.

These make great open house gifts and well as small wedding presents! Such fun to work on too!

The Circus Pop-Ups with Graphic 45 and Cricut

Well it's no secret Graphic 45 is my favorite paper company and I doubt that you didn't know that cigar boxes and pop-up cards are running in second place, as far as favs go! In these projects I get to use all three plus my wonderful Cricut Expression!

The Graphic 45 Le Cirque paper spoke to me and said circus cigar boxes. So after a lovely black cigar box was finished, I noticed I had 2 more boxes that were narrow and wouldn't it be so neat to open a box and see a circus act inside? Well of course it would and I figured I was up to the challenge.

First using Beacon 3 in 1 glue I papered strategic areas of the boxes with those wonderful illustration and patterns. I used Tim Holtz feet on one box and I used his curio knob on another. Next I looked through my Cricut cartridges and decided on the images. The first with clowns and a tent are from Paper Doll Dress Up page 58 and the second pop-up is from Everyday Pop-Up cards pages 24 and 66. No, I didn't use the cartridge pop-up cuts. The op ups were done with the same cube technique, I had used in the past. It was a bit tricky, taking time to make them work and fit in to the box, but when they worked it was fun to see the surprise on peoples faces!

I entered this post into several linkys this week!
