Galaxy Hair a Watercolor Painting

This was a fun tutorial by Sarah Cray for Let's Make Art. I traced the outline onto my Canson 140 lb. watercolor paper, using my light box.

This is happens what happens when you use two colors of watercolors and let them bleed together with water and added salt to the mix, watching the blooms start to open. I added the Dr. Ph. Martins Bleed Proof White for the stars! It was fun using a light mix of color for her facial features. It was a fun project although I did go off the rails a bit on my own!

It's was just too much fun, not to try again. This time I used an old piece of Arches watercolor paper. The painting didn't react to the salt, but then I decided to add metallic watercolor dots and lots of watercolor frizzy hair! Isn't she cool?
