It's been a few a years since we visited Fernandina Beach, Florida, on Amelia Island. We enjoy the quaint charm, boutiques for shopping and the lovely beach walking in the Downtown Historic District. There are so many lovely homes and other buildings for my husband Sandy to take pictures of. One of those shots is just perfect for my watercolors.
I used the Rapid Resizer app to make Sandy's photo into a line drawing and then printed it. I traced the lines using the light box to transfer my lines to Canson 140 lb. cold press watercolor paper.
I used a Micron Pen to go over my pencil lines and painted the picture with Winsor Newton Cotman tube watercolor paints. The red flowers in the tree was enhanced with General's Pastel Chalk Pencils.
I'm still exploring watercolor painting. The tutorials I've watched by Sarah Cray for Let's Make Art and those of artist Paul Clark have increase my confidence working in watercolors.
