That Wise Owl

I couldn't wait to start this Owl from Tamara Laporte's tutorial in the Women Unleashed Retreat.

I followed Tamara's step by step drawing lesson and on to painting, this fellow in mostly Jane Davenport watercolors and some Dr. Ph. Martin's Bleed Proof White.

Both a black Micron Pen and a Uni-Ball Signo white pen brought out the additional details.

This painting made a really nice Christmas gift for my bird lovin hubby!

Great detail in your owl! He reminded me of a poem I used to recite to my children!

A wise old owl sat in an oak.
The more he heard, the less he spoke.
The less he spoke, the more he heard.
Why can't we be like that wise old bird?

Thanks for sharing with us at A Place to Start!

Hugz,
Chana

What a wonderful owl (which is actually an eagle owl). Simply stunning and magnificent. I am deeply impressed.
Kind regards, Flo
