Dream in Color

 These pages were inspired by a tutorial by Erin Duncan, who demonstrated using Caran D'ache Neo Color II water soluble crayons.

Since I really enjoy working with these crayons, when I saw this tutorial, I couldn't wait to get my art journal out to give it a try.

Steps:

1) Cover the two page spread with watered down white gesso and let dry.

2) Cut out floral prints and adhere them front and back using acrylic matte medium.

3) Draw girl with long flowing hair.

4) Color around items on pages with the crayon slightly touching colors.

5) Sponge brush the page with water activating the colors and let dry.

6) Use crayons to color girl and activate them, let dry.

7) Additional colors to background and some white gesso. Let dry.

8) Fill in details of the girl using Posca Pens.
