Jelly Bean Row, Newfoundland

Jelly Bean Row, is the name of this painting and is in Newfoundland, St. John's, Canada. The town has many streets painted in bright lovely colors. I followed a wonderful tutorial by artist Paul Clark. The style is line and wash. It took most of the day, but so worth while. I have always enjoyed combining watercolors with black line drawings. I was so happy to have found Paul Clark's tutorial. I enjoyed the bright colors and that it was a beach town. I live 7 miles from a beach town!

The artist provided a line drawing which I printed to the size I needed. I used my light box to transfer the drawing onto my Canson 140 lb. cold press watercolor paper. I went over my pencil outlines with a black Micron Pen. I painted the image with Winsor Newton Cotman watercolor tubes. The white bits were made using a Gelly Roll pen 05.

Clark was very informational and kept instructions easy to follow, resulting in a very satisfying painting. I would be very happy to mat and frame the painting for a place on my wall.
