What I Did When Hurricane Dorian Came!

Well, we knew for about a week that Hurricane Dorian was coming to visit the coast of Florida. Knowing that we are 7 miles from the beach, it was time to make preparations and hubby began early to get the metal shutters up and move things around.

Preparations also include shopping for food to last for several days. So while at the store I spotted some reading material to keep me occupied...a magazine all about my favorite TV show "Downton Abbey." Yeah I was thinking of reading by flashlight! Anyway I did get to look it over, but between watching Dorian's approach and the strong pull to my art room, I could not resist another project, maybe two.

First I put together a "Cinch Perpetual Calendar." I guess my head wasn't into it yet, I made several mistakes, although it is looking cute!
With more time on my hands and the internet working, I looked for another way to make this same project with supplies I have in the art room. I found: kristinscraftykitchen.blogspot.com. With a bit of changes I designed a beachy perpetual calendar. I love how it came out!

My perpetual desk calendars have 33 flaps consisting of 7 days, 12 months and two set of numbered flaps: #0-3 and #0-9. I hope this helps those who had a question.

Very interesting project! I will have to check out Kristin's blog. I, too, am a Downton Abbey fan. I just started rewatching the entire series. I purchased the Deluxe set and it came with tea towels, tea, and coasters, I am all set. Hope you and yours fared well in the storm. Thanks so much for sharing with us at 613 Avenue Create.
