I made a canvas collage dress shop inspired by a book, which I got for Christmas, "Collage Couture Studio Paper Dolls," by artist Julie Nutting.
I used Copic Markers to color this cute image and cut it out, placing soft pads on the back. I also made a rubber stamped Prima paper doll (Adara by Julie Nutting) backward. Soft pads were also placed on the wrong side of the little girl paper doll.
The 12 x 12" canvas was painted with acrylic paint and sealed with Beacon Decoupage. The shop windows were cut from scrapbook paper using the Fancy Frames cartridge in the Cricut Machine. I also cut dress forms in the same machine from the Nifty Fifties cartridge. Dresses were stamped on scrapbook paper and cute from a few Julie Nutting Prima stamps. I cute one small doily in half and placed it at the top of each window frame. The pieces were glued in place and sealed again with Beacon Decoupage.
I made an awning roof and embellished it with a printed sign and lace and glued it in place. Butterflies were cut using a Martha Stewart punch and flowers were made from a variety of floral pieces. Each of these was glued in place.
The digi image of Shopping Sandy by Imagine That and the Adara paper doll were added to the canvas to finish off the display canvas.
Each of the Imagine That images comes with numerous other pieces. I hope you are inspired by my canvas and check out the many lovely imaged at the Imagine That shop.
