Floral Watercolor Mixed Media

This floral painting was inspired from a tutorial by Creationsceecee. I drew the design usig a Derwent Inktense outliner pencil on Canson 140 lb. cold press watercolor paper. I added a frame to the paper with a 2.0 Speedball Elegant Writer. I followed that going over the floral lines with the Elegant Writer. I colored in the floral design with Derwent Inktense pencils.

Using a wet paint brush I brushed around the frame dragging the color to form the background of my floral. Then I blotted off the wet color revealing the pink ink it left behind.

I sprayed water on the flower and moved the painted mixture around with a brush. I blotted the mass of color and dried it with my hair dryer. I skipped the addition of Glossy Accents altogether.

I used a Faber-Castell Pitt Artest Pen to define the flower petals. Here is where I jumped off the tutorial adding highlights with Dr. Ph. Martin's Bleed Proof White.

I added some gold and some green Fine Tec Pearlescent Watercolors. I love the new look of this Elegant Writer piece!
