Before the pandemic, my husband and I spent a lot of time just walking around St. Augustine. It's such a beautiful town. Now we hardly leave the house. We are fortunate that our family is nearby and we do spend time with them.
During those walks my husband Sandy took lots and lots of pictures! This painting of a home in St. Augustine is one of those. I changed the photo into a line drawing and placed it on my light box. I traced the drawing onto Canson 140 lb. cold press watercolor paper. I followed that with a Micron 03 pen over the pencil lines.
I used Winsor Newton Cotman watercolor tubes to paint this picture and I enhanced the painting using General's Pastel Chalk Pencils. I used some technique, which I learned by watching artist Paul Clark's tutorials.

Love this, saw it on a challenge entry. I have about decided no good watercolor paper will go through any inkjet or laser that I can afford, so I'm considering doing what you did, ie tracing and re-lining. I have so many digi stamps that I would love to water color! Thanks for posting your details on this, in some strange way I think reading it helped lead me to a solution. xoxo
