Our family is a big fan of baseball. It isn't just the Mets or Yankees back in New York, although they are our favorites, it's anything baseball! Our boys grew up playing baseball, collecting the cards, watching on TV and going to games. They still laugh when they see Abbott and Costello's famous "Who's on First," comedy routine. When my husband Sandy found a toy animated with this routine, he bought it of course! There are figures of assorted players and even a large one of the Babe pointing to center field during the 1932 World Series. The problem is what to get the guy for his birthday, when he seems to have everything. I wanted to give him a baseball item. Then he saw me making a notebook using a Little Golden Book and he said, "I wouldn't mind owning one of those."
Making a notebook in the baseball theme is a fun project. I had to look for the perfect Little Golden Book. I found a good deal on "Jackie Robinson," at Walmart online. The history of this important player in baseball and in the United States, makes this a great addition to my husband's collection.
With card stock, assorted envelopes and writing papers, I put together a really neat book using my Cinch Binder. I used my Cricut Die Cutting Machine to embellish the pages and even used my Happy Jig for a metal wire star.
With ribbons in the perfect bow, this book is ready to meet its new owner.
