Say Yes to the Dress...a Baby Sundress and Hat

My granddaughter Princess Sunshine is 9 months old and it's time her grandma made her a sundress. We all live in Florida, by the way! I don't think we are actually having spring this year, the summer and lots and lots of rain is what we got!

It's been 8 years since I made her brother's baby clothes and I wasn't sure I was still up to the task. I picked New Look pattern 6353 for the dress and McCall's pattern M6303 for a matching hat. The dress has straps instead of sleeves and elastic in the front and back casings. The dress has a bodice and two layers of gathered skirts. A satin bow can be tied to the strap on one side for added decoration.
Well it wasn't easy, that hat doesn't go together well. I tried twice and finally just made it work. The size large hat is big and will fit for awhile.
I ended up making three sundresses because the sizes were given by weight and seemed unrealistic. I made one in each size large, medium and small. What you see on her is size small and eventually she will grow into the other two dresses. It was a bit cool in the house, the dress is still pretty large and fits a tee shirt underneath  it. It works well and the baby is comfortable.

All in all, I feel that I was very successful in making this cute outfit for our lovely Princess.

Fluffy Fannie img 010 Card
This is my second My Besties card for this month. I chose a Fluffy Fannie image again, img 010.

I colored this wonderful image using my Copic Markers and then cut her out. I printed a background and sentiment in my Craft Artist 2 program. I adhered the background to a basic white card. I placed soft dimensional pads on the back of the cut image and placed her on the card.
Got to the My Besties shop for these great images or check the shop at Etsy.

Flapper Molli Dex Card

The current challenge at Crafting from the Heart is just for fun. I chose to use Flapper Molli from Lala Land Digis for my design Team inspirational card.

I layered 2 dex cards a printed stripe circle and one made with the Heidi swap die in a music print. They form a taller card to accommodate my digital image. I printed a sentiment from the Craft Artist 2 program and cut it out and glued it onto the dex cards.

I colored my image except for her dress, with Copic Markers. I traced her bodice including her neck, to make a pieced dress from a small piece of Graphic 45 printed card stock. I cut it out and adhered it in place. I glued it to the background cards and embellished it with a sticky bead necklace. I finished of the dex card with glassy music notes stickers.

A Day in Paradise Card
I want to introduce the Fluffy Fannie collection from My Besties. These images are so colorful and a lot of fun. For today's card I chose to use img 009.
I used Copic markers to color this cutie and cut her out leaving a narrow white edge. I cut 2 solid color card stock mats and placed one thru the Cuttlebug Machine with the Cuttlebug Embossing folder D'vine Swirl (37-1142). I adhered the 2 mats in layers onto a white base card and glued the colored image on top. I embellished the card with 2 flowers.
