Frida Kahlo Mexican Artist

Frida Kahlo B54
Mari Digis Challenge Blog
I really enjoy making Design Team inspirational cards using images from history, especially art history. This is a Mari Digis Stamp of Frida Kahlo (B54). She was  Mexican self-portrait artist and is still admired as  feminist icon.

The image was colored using Faber-Castell Polychromos Pencils and a bit of metallic Gelly Roll pen. This colorful image was cut out and placed on soft pads. A printed card stock background was adhered to a base card and the image was placed on top giving the card design a 3D look. Dimensional flower stickers were add to embellish the card.

After working on this card, I decided it was a bit too plain for this artist's card and so I cut the front edge around the flowers and added a contrasting strip of scrapbook paper to the inside edge.
Frida and other fabulous images are available in the shop at Mari Digis.

I hope my card will encourage you to try your luck in the Mari Digis Challenge, where anything goes.
