Ok, so my customer loves the Rapunzel party invitations, so much that she wants thank you notes to match! Ah another challenge….I didn’t see the movie, but most people know the original tale. Well, it seems that in the Disney flick “Tangled” Rapunzel has a chameleon friend named Pascal, a colorful lizard creature. There is my pop up idea for the inside of the note card!
The lizard in “Life is a Beach,” is on page 56 in the Cricut cart book. I cut him at 3”. For this pop out, I cut the strip right from the card base. From the folded edge of the card on the outside, I drew 2 short parallel lines toward the edge of the card. I cut those lines starting from the folded edge. I folded the cut strip back and then folded it forward again. When I opened the card I pushed the strip through to the inside of the card. I closed the card and pressed firmly. Then I opened the card to see the pop up strip. Before putting the lizard in place I cut and glued a fern paper for a background. I glued Pascal’s tail to the pop up, making sure he did not show out of the card’s open edge, when it is closed. I cut a pink cloud with a Nestibilities shape and stamped it in silver “thank you.”
I cover the front of the card with blue, to hide the cut out and glued a 4” crown and a 3 ¾” castle from the Cricut cart Paper Doll Dress Up on page 47.
Oh yeah, my customer loved the sample and now I have to make 14 lizards!
