This pink parrot gouache painting was inspired from a tutorial by Melanie of Visual Mind. This is my second gouache painting from a tutorial by this artist. I'm so glad I found her on Pinterest.
The pieces I picked out to work on tend to be of dreamy imagery or Surreal. Melanie simplifies her basic drawing and uses decorative colors, not commonly used for the image. I really wasn't sure if the pink on the parrot was going to work for me. After continuing to work on the contrasting details the parrot just seemed to jump forward on the page.
This piece is painted on a Arteza Gouache Pad using Holbein and Winsor Newton paints. The highlight is from a Gelly Roll Pen and the bit of black lines is from a Micron Pen.
