Sugar Skull

I love the colorful Sugar Skull tutorial by Karen Campbell for Awesome Art School It's a mixed media collage tutorial, but I decided to work on it as a colorful design in my toned tan sketch book. I transferred the design into my book using my light pad and a Graphgear 1000 Pentel Pencil.

I made some mistakes along the way. Some of my large collection of markers and pens refused to work on the tan page. But I didn't give up, Karen has always said to keep going. Eventually I found what worked and made changes that worked for me.

I found the following markers worked the best for me: Sharpie Creative Markers, Faber-Castell Pitt Pen Brush Markers and Master's Touch Mini Fineliner Markers.

I'm very happy with how this piece came out. Good thing I didn't give up!
