I enjoy working on toned paper and decided to try another. This Girl on Toned Paper is from a tutorial by Karen Campbell, which I found on Youtube.
The lesson was supposed to be entirely done in Sharpie Markers. Since I didn't own the really large Sharpies, I substituted Dr. Ph. Martin's Bombay Black India Ink. The ink went on the toned page nice and smooth using a brush and outshines the Sharpie Marker. I liked it so much that I went over the Sharpie Marker parts with the ink!
This tutorial was done in my Strathmore Toned Tan Sketch book. The additional supplies were China markers and a Posca pen.
Although I messed up on the girl's features, I love the finished piece and feel she has character. She's interesting, not everyone has symmetrical features!
