I know that I've said, I enjoy tutorials by Diane Antone. I was gifted a coupon for 50% off of the color books on her site. I have enjoyed working on her tutorials for free, but there are 20 hand-drawn design in each book, which has a dedicated playlist on Utube. I downloaded the Summer Hedgerow Coloring Book," and chose the design from the list in the book. I love having these illustrations to choose from on my computer. It was worth $3 to have them any time.
I transferred my chosen illustration onto Strathmore Mixed Media paper (8x10" 140 lb.) using my light pad. I used some Daler Rowney Aquafine Watercolor Ink, a glass dip pen and a water brush. I don't have the supplies mentioned in the tutorial, but the watered down ink worked well with my glass pen and water brush. I did play with what I have on a small 5x7 watercolor paper, which helped me to decide what I would do on the larger size mixed media paper.
I'm very pleased with my work and look forward to doing others in the book.
