When my granddaughter was 4 months old, she would hold onto a sweet giraffe toy. While checking out all the great tutorials Tamara Laporte offers on her website at Willowing.org, I saw the perfect gift for our granddaughter for Xmas. She will have a giraffe framed in white, with a small picture of herself inserted in the corner of that frame.
So, I learned to paint a mixed media whimsical giraffe.
I used Jane Davenport watercolors, Albrecht Durer-Faber-Castell watercolor pencils, Prismacolor pencils and Posca pens, on Canson 140 lb. cold press watercolor paper. I used a light pad to transfer the outline onto the watercolor paper.
