A Butterfly Princess and Pretty Feathers

I was really fortunate to get to do a few of the Taster art tutorials from Life Book 2023. Hurricane Ian had just begun it's journey across the state of Florida. I got to work on Tamara Laporte's lessons of Feathers and the beautiful Butterfly Alchemy Princess.

I used my Jane Davenport watercolors for the lessons as well as several waterproof pens, including Posca and Micron. For the face of the princess, I blended Carand'ache crayons along with the watercolors.

I really enjoyed working on these pieces and look forward to more art lessons.

  1. Gorgeous drawing. I love how you've played with the watercolours to give it dimension and colour. And the way you've added the butterflies to the girl is very smart. Thanks for joining us at A Place To Start. Hugs, María.
