Two Honey Bee Watercolors

This design was inspired from a Honey Bee tutorial by Sarah Cray for Let's Make Art. I added the Faber-Castell Mixed Media Stencils for the honey comb background. The image was painted on a Winsor Newton watercolor postcard.

For the second Honey Bee, I enlarged the outline and used Saral Transfer Paper to place it on the black Stonehenge 140 lb. coldpress watercolor paper. Instead of the vain lines on the outline, I drew design lines with a white Faber-Castell watercolor pencil. I also added the Faber-Castell Mixed Media Stencils for the honey comb background. I painted inside of the shapes with Fine-Tec Pearlescent watercolors and finished the wings off using a black Posca Pen around the shapes. I used Master's Touch Metallic watercolor cakes for the bee's body and Winsor Newton Cotman watercolor tubes for the honey comb background.
