Dressing Downton at the Lighterner Museum

Another Sunday out and about. Sandy and I spent the day in St. Augustine. Contrary to last Sunday, the weather was warm. Lots of tourists were in town for the annual Nights of Lights, but we were in town to see the fabulous Downton Abbey costume exhibit. It's currently at the Lightner Museum until January 7th. Yes, it was worth the trip.

I had only watched the first season of Downton Abbey, but after seeing the variety of clothing and reading the many signs with descriptions of both the clothing and the era, I can't wait to see the complete series.

The tickets are general admission, so after seeing the wonderful clothing in the exhibit we check out the rest of the museum. Later we walk around the around the town along with the tourists!

The hints throughout the Downton Abbey exhibit, have made me very impatient to wait for Christmas to come, I hope to receive the videos of this PBS show as a gift!

Elf Tag

The new challenge at Crafting from the Heart is sponsored by Paper Nest Dolls. I chose to use Elf Owen for my design team inspirational card.

I colored this cute little fellow with Copic Markers and cut him out. I layered the image on the top of two solid color card stock mats and adhered it to a colorful printed tag. I tied a red ribbon to the top of the tag.

Come on over and enter our challenge at Crafting from the Heart, where anything goes!

Toy Baby Girl Card

http://www.fabrikafantasy.com/store.php#.Wiac_HlrzIV
This card is one of the new releases for December from Fabrika Fantasy. I used Cute Toy-03 for my design team inspirational card.

I colored this adorable image using Prismacolor Pencils and a Prismacolor Cololess Blender Marker (PB-121).

I cut the colorful image out leaving a narrow white edge. I adhered a colorful mat to a white base card. I used my Cuttlebug Die Cutting Machine with the Sizzix #660289 dies to cut the baby dresser and various other pieces from card stock. I glued each on the mat and glued the image on top. I embellished the dresser with sticky pearls for the draw pulls.

I hope you like my baby girl card and take a look at other images in the shop at Fabrika Fantasy.

Dickens on Centre, Fernandina Beach, Fl.

Yesterday was a chilly but sunny day in Florida. My hubby Sandy and I took a ride North to Amelia Island. We enjoyed the transformation of Fernandina Beach into the 1840s London during the 3rd annual Dickens on Centre festival! The town turned into a classic English village. There were renactors, strolling carolers, entertainers and lots of people dressed in their Victorian finery. I got to wear my brand new Cranberry jacket, but maybe next year we will go and I'll be decked out as a fine Victorian lady!

50th Birthday Card

https://www.etsy.com/listing/534436669/50s-chic-image-no-98?ref=shop_home_active_22
https://sheepskidesigns.blogspot.co.uk/p/shop.html
The new sponsor for this month at Creative Lady Birds is Sheepski Designs. I chose to use 50's Chic #98 for my Design Team Inspirational card.

I printed this image once on Copic Marker paper and once on card stock. I cut out the dress from the card stock, which I used as a pattern for the printed paper dress. I cut out the dress and added various details using a Pigma Micron 01 pen. I embellished the crinoline at the bottom of the dotted dress with Ice Glace Hiela Stickles Glitter Glue.

The printed Jukebox and sentiment were left over pieces from a Craftsuprint card. These were adhered to a double mat of a print and a solid card stock on a white base card. I popped the girl on top. I finished the images off with a black marker on the edges.

Armoire Tag Card

http://maridigisstore2.blogspot.com.br/search?q=M03
http://maridigisstore2.blogspot.com.br/
For the challenge this month at Mari Digis, I chose to make a stand up armoire card. The image I chose for my design team card is M03 Girl Thoughtful. I colored this sweetie with Copic Markers and cut her out leaving a slight white edge. I put soft pads on the back of the image.

I took 2 Julie Nutting, armoire tags and punch a small near the top of each. I used a mat knife to cut the doors open in one armoire tag. On that same tag I decorated with printed scrap paper and gems for pulls (card front). I also glued a solid paper behind the large opening where the doors were.

I drew a clothing pole in the opening. I printed several piece of clothing from Julie Nutting stamps and cut them out. I cut a few hangers for the clothing from Spellbinders MD2-002. I trimmed the hangers and glued them to the back of the clothing and used them to decorate the card front and inside also.

I popped the colored image on the left side of the armoire, where she looks 3D on the soft pads. I tied some ribbon through the holes and made a stand up card! Maybe she is deciding what to wear to school the next day!

Come to our challenge and see what other team members have designed.
