It's a new year and a new sponsor for the new challenge this at Classic Design Team Open. The sponsor is Rick St. Dennis and for my Design Team inspirational card, I chose to use Billie Jo.

I colored this fun digital image with Copic markers. I cut her out leaving a narrow white edge. I layered 3 pieces of card stock on a white base card and adhered the colored image on top using soft pads to create a 3D image. I embellished the card with adhesive flowers (gems in the center).

If you are a Design Team member on another team, you can join our challenge at Classic Design Team Open.

Paper Doll Piecing an Addictive Habit

From line drawing stamped image to dressed paper doll.
Have you discovered Julie Nutting's wonderful paper doll stamps? I bought a couple and didn't realize how addicting they are! In a very short time I have accumulated 10 dolls! No, it isn't sending me back to second grade, but it did bring back the memory of a shoe box full of paper figures in my second grade desk, way back when.

I enjoy piecing outfits for Rita and the other dolls in my collection. Here are the steps I use to make truly original fashions for these wonderful paper ladies and some gents!

Stamp doll on Copic Paper.

Color with Copic Markers (I used E000, E00, E11, E15, YG13)

Cut out.

Print Skirt on two pieces of printed paper. These papers are from Nana's Kitchen Matstack.

Cute skirt out, if you can't fit the piece in one print, do it again for the parts that you had trouble with and cut out.

Decide which parts are the skirt and which is the inset and cut those out.

Glue pieces together.

Adhere outfit to doll.
Adhere dress fabric to back of doll, in case the background is narrow and the doll shows on the sides. Please note that the doll was cut narrow, where I did not need it to be and the dress is adhered to the main form. Editing note: I was reminded that I usually edge all my dolls with a black marker giving them a finished more professional look! Thanks for the reminder Debbie!

Have fun enjoy your new hobby! I have plans for some dolls I have made, just waiting for Xmas when I might be getting the two books written by the artist  Julie Nutting. Happy Holidays!

Life is a Beach Card

https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/JuliaSpiri?ref=l2-shopheader-name
2016 is coming to a close and the World Wide Open Design Team Challenge has one more challenge this year for you to join in.

I live 7 miles from small town of Flagler Beach. My husband and I enjoy the town and the surrounding area very much. I thought I might celebrate this small town with an image from Julia Spiri our monthly sponsor. I chose to use Girl Hanging out the Washing. Even in the smallest of beach towns, the mundane, ordinary things must be accomplished. Before you can go enjoy the wonderful sea breezes, one must hang up the laundry. But it's nice to breath it in while catching up on one's work!

I colored the image with Copic Markers and cut it out. I placed soft pads on the back to form a 3D image.I printed a seashore background, cabana building, and some text, all separately. I adhered the cabana to the beach background and applied the 3D image and then I cut the text out and put it on soft pads to make it also pop forward. This picture was glued to a blue mat which was then adhered to a white base card.

I hope you enjoy my beach card.

If you belong to another Design Team, you can share your work with us on the World Wide Open Design Team Challenge, where anything goes.

Tango Dance Card

http://maridigisstore2.blogspot.com.br/2016/06/b82-dance.html
http://maridigisstore2.blogspot.com.br/
A new challenge just began at Mari Digi. For my Design Team inspirational card, I chose B82 Dance. This was an interesting project, there are two wonderful characters and I wanted each to show equally as the focus in this card. I wanted the boy to be suave and have a tan and the girl to have a lighter skin tone. I wanted a dramatic look for their clothes. I hope you like what I ended up with, I do!

The images were colored using the following colors:
E000, E00, E11, E13, E15, R02, R20, RV02, RV17, RV19, Y13, C7, C9, C13, 100 Black and Colorless Blender 0

I also used a bit of metallic pen by Recollections.

I cut around the lovely twosome leaving a narrow white edge. I picked out suitable card stock to give my card a dramatic dance effect and layered them with the cut image adhered to the top.

I hope my tango card has inspired your participation in our new challenge where anything goes.

https://lunagirl.com/pages/digital-collage-sheets
The 39th challenge at Crafting from the Heart is sponsored by Luna Girl. I chose to use the lovely Christmas Tree in the center of the Victorian Christmas Sheet.

I used the Craft Artist 2 program to cut out and save the tree, which I merged with two layers of color and a sentiment text.

I hope you will try your luck in the challenge at Crafting from the Heart, where anything goes!

http://lacysunshine.weebly.com/

This cute boy is Kylie Kidz Street by Lacy Sunshine, which is the current sponsor of the Creative Lady Birds Challenge. He has been colored using Copic Markers and placed in the Craft Artist 2 program. The only thing needed was some grass and pebbles to make the image have a bit more realism.

The printed image was matted on blue card stock and adhered to a white base card.

I hope to see your work on the Creative Lady Birds Challenge!

Mischievous Leprechaun Card

http://www.fabrikafantasy.com/mischievous-leprechaun-digital-stamp.php#.WAiiSMmfeis
http://www.fabrikafantasy.com/store.php#.Vw6jjnqfeis
I chose the Mischievous Leprechaun image for my Design Team card for the new Glitter themed challenge at Fabrika Fantasy.

I colored the image with Copic Markers and cut him out leaving a narrow white edge. I added soft pads to the back of the image and adhered it to two layers of card stock, one plain brown and the other a pattern print (So Cute-Paper Collection). These layers were adhered to a white base card.

I decorated the gold coins and bell with Stickles glitter glue and added some glittery coins dropping into the pot.

I hope my card has encouraged you to try your luck at the Fabrika Fantasy Challenge!

http://digistamps4joy.co.za/eshop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=34_37&products_id=1650
http://digistamps4joy.co.za/eshop/
It's time for new challenge #131 at Digistamps4Joy. The theme is a usual anything goes with a twist. This month's twist is "Make It Sparkle." I chose Dream for my digistamp. She makes such a pretty inspirational Design Team card.

First I filled in all lettering with gold Stickles glitter glue. I waited for the glue to dry and colored the girl with Copic markers. I cut her out leaving a narrow white edge and adhered her to a basic black card.

I'm looking forward to seeing if you choose to make a project that sparkles!
