Yes, it's true, I now design for http://craftingwithanattitude.blogspot.com/   How cool is that?

So for my first card as a member of this special group, I chose Stardust Fairy by Fitztown.com. She is colored in Prismacolor pencils. Aside from the usual colors, I tried a new blend for her outfit and wings. I used marine green number PC988 and aquamarine number PC905. I'm very proud of her lovely look. Although I am a retired art teacher and of course know the color theory, I have no training in color pencil work and will be working on that taking the Kit and Clowder, "Perfecting Pencils Class." The way I figure it, I can only get better!

Once this little one was colored I placed her in the Serif Craft Artist 2 program with the digikit "Natural Landscapes," using the very first colorful forest background. Here the light is filtering thru the trees, as she dreamily walks down the path.

Lady Luck Card

March 17th is St. Patrick's Day and will be here soon. For my first card for Crafting from the Heart , I picked Lady Luck from our sponsor Sassy Studio. She is colored in Prismacolor pencils with Odorless Mineral Spirits. Lady Luck is cut out with a white edge and glued to a plaid backing sheet, that was printed from my computer. The luck embellishment is from a set by Jolee's Boutique.

Bugaboo Stamps

Today is my first post as a Design Team member of Creative Ladybirds Creations. I'm really excited to share my card with you. The sponsor for this image is Bugaboo Stamps.  Derwent Inktense Pencils were used to color up this little darling. The background was created in Craft Artist 2 using the Digikit-"Playground" by Daisy Trail. This digikit is free and I use it often for my cards.

The simplicity of Ava's lines and the childlike bits and pieces of the "Playground" digikit go together very nicely. I used adhesive pearls in the center of the flowers and in the center of Ava's bow.

An Artist Card

I recently began the online "Perfecting Pencils Class," by Kit and Clowder." Due to life getting in the way, I haven't gotten very far into the class. I due appreciate the detail, advise and assistance offered by Alyce Keegan, the artist, who works on giving each of her student the best class experience. In appreciation for her genuine good , a sponsor, "Scrappers Delight" an online digital stamp company, gave crafters the opportunity to download a free digital image of lovely Ms. Keegan.

Rather than getting to work with my lessons, I colored the image of Alyce, cut it out and layered it on a card. I hope you like it. I should get even better once I get to my lessons!

A 45th Anniversary

Forty-five years ago on Sunday, February 15th, 1970, the weather was just about as bad as the North East is currently experiencing. Long Island had snow with blizzard conditions. Sandy's family and mine were at my parent's house in North Bellmore, New York. We were supposed to go to the local synagogue where the Rabbi would marry us, only I refused to get married without my Grandma Minnie. Finally late in the afternoon, she arrived driven in the bad weather by my Aunt Harriet and Uncle Jack. We then went on to the synagogue, where Sandy and I were married in the Rabbi's study under the traditional chuppah (canopy). Sandy shattered the traditional glass (covered light bulb) with his foot. We were finally married and we all celebrated at a local Chinese restaurant. That March we all celebrated again with friends and family at a reception in Leonard's in Great Neck, Long Island.

 So here it is 2015 and due to my really bad cough, me, Sandy and our oldest son Gordon had dinner at the local Chinese restaurant...this time in Florida!

A Busy and Exciting Weekend!

Its' been an exciting weekend for me. I tackled the monochromatic coloring competition sponsored by Kit and Clowder.com, using the free digi stamp designed by Ching-Choukuik Digital Stamps. I chose Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol as my medium. I'm very happy with the results. Then I was notified that I was picked as a new member of the Creative Ladybirds Creation Design Team! That is really so cool, I will be showing you what I can do with a variety of lovely new digital stamps. So come and check back, because the first challenege is March 1st.

Now aside from that my husband Sandy and I have been at work, making 3D pictures in shadow box frames. I had been doing 3D cards with the decoupage cars. The frames look so cool using my husbands' color sketches and my hand cut decoupage cars.

On top of all that I took my first Zumba Gold class in several years. Veronica Scott was the instructor at the new studio run by Fitness 1 and she was wonderful. I very much need to get back in shape, loose a few pounds and bring up my endurance level. I hope to get more into it the next time.

Drawing Digital Images: It's the Process!

I've been working on designing my own digital images for a few weeks and I have to tell you, I'm pretty proud of the progress I've made to improve my drawing. Of course like everything else, I do things my way!

First I have to say that I am very big on collecting books on the subject of drawing Mangas. My latest addition is really cool. "Shojo Fashion Manga Art School Year 2," has a world of ideas for unique and colorful clothing to help me create my characters.

While concentrating on these images I also copied by eye without guidelines and discovered my eye is pretty good! Taking the characters from the book and making them my own is a lengthy process, but I'm in love with the results. So check this out:

Using the light box over the good copy of my image, I made a template.

Using the light box, I designed a new outfit over the template.

I used Prismacolor and Gamsol on my finished images, which were first drawn in pencil and then gone over with a black Pigma Micro Pen #01.
