He loved the motorcycle card!

Pop Up Father's Day Motorcycle Card

Father’s Day is coming around the bend and my hubby is always in the house! It is very hard to make him something when he could walk in at any time! Finally he left the house to shop. I took advantage and the time and got quickly to work. I’m not worried about him taking a peek…he has no idea how to get to my blog or even what a blog is!
So, here it is:
I covered the front of a 5” x 7” blank card with a green leaf patterned paper. I used leftover die cuts from other Cricut projects including grass, a fence and a tree to make a background for a blue motorcycle with a black shadow. This I think was cut from “Going Places” a Cricut cartridge. The bike is placed on pop dots for some dimension. Happy Father’s Day was stamped on white cardstock and glued in place. This made a very effective card front…for a guy who has two motorcycle…one blue and one black!
Now, we come to the inside of the card that pops out!

I used the same green leaf patterned background for the bottom of the card and a blue starry print for the sky. Born to Ride was cut on my Gypsy and the fantastic blue and black bike and Harley-Davidson embellishments were bought at a wonderful scrapbook store in the town of Palm Coast.
For the pop-up cube. Cut a strip of paper 1 ½” x 6 ¼” and fold it in half lengthways and then again in half. There should be three folds.
Cut ¼” off both ends of the strip.
Fold the strip on those lines with mountain folds into a cube shape.
Open the cube with the peaks of the fold up, place glue on both end sections of the strip.
Fold the strip back to a cube and the place the cube into the center of the card at equal distance from the top and bottom. The middle fold in the strip is lined up with the card fold. The card should open and close easily.
The decorative bike was place on a piece of green paper with pop dots (I cut around the plastic sheet the bike was originally mounted on, so my hubby could remove the bike easily for another use). I made sure the bike didn’t show, when the card was closed, although it is a bit bulky.
The other stickers came with the motorcycle and add to the overall look of a night ride in the country!

A Butterfly Card with Tombow Markers

 I found a great tutorial using Tombow watercolor markers. I tried it. I loved it so much I did it two more times! This butterfly stamp image is nice and large and makes good use of the watercolor markers. I found it on clearance at Michaels. It was made by Inksdinkado. I also used archival black ink and clear embossing powder. I used small floral rubber stamp on the orange cardstock, with orange pigment ink and clear embossing powder.

Just Dance Album

In November of 2007 my younger son married a beautiful young girl and along with getting a terrific daughter-in-law, we got her adorable six year old sister…my new granddaughter!
I began caring for her after school, taking her to dance class and making art projects. She has been growing up, becoming a very bright and charming little lady. This wonderful granddaughter has given my husband and me new things to look forward to do with her. As an elementary student she changed schools to become a student in the gifted program and at the same time became a member of the competition dance school team winning “gold” several times. We could not be prouder even if she were our biological grandchild.
For her 11th birthday in November, we are working on a dance scrapbook for her gift. This will be an on going process adding more pages as we watch our granddaughter, a wonderful little dancer perform.
As I finish each page in her book, I will put them on my blog, but please if you are a friend or relative do not tell this little one about the surprise.

 I made this page for her, while I was teaching a scrapbooking class at Michaels. The outfit she is wearing on the left, I bought for her Xmas gift last year and she loved it! I used some great sticker and did her name using my Cricut Gypsy. She has seen the page, but it was in another book at the time, so don't tell her about this!

These two pages were a set on clearance at Michaels......I had to get them! The blue outfit works perfectly with the pink lovely pages!

I found these two wonderful cardstock pages reduced at Michaels. The gold words and trophy were cut with the help of my Cricut Gypsy. With pretty star stickers, they are a winning double page spread!
My granddaughter won the gold for both of her dances in March in Daytona Beach and I used the same gold trophy on each and for her big performance number on this dotted page. I cut a record and music notes from my latest Cricut cartridge "Nifty Fifties". I love the cartridge! Come back often, I will be adding more pages to this album as time goes by. Her recital is the middle of June and I think she will have plenty of dance for my husband to take pictures of!

Scenic Beauty Card

Supplies:
Rubber Stamp:
      (Suggestions: N234 Beachfront Boat or N235 Sailboat Bay each by Stampendous)

Stazon Acid-free, Archival Ink Pad (Fast drying and will not bleed when water is used)

 Watercolor pencils (Suggestion: Faber-Castell)
Water brush (Suggestion: Kuretake Co., Ltd.)
Drawing paper (Good quality)
Cardstock for card 8 ¼” x 5 ½” folded in half

Martha Stewart Edge Punch
Plaid cardstock 5” square
Plaid Cardstock 1” x 5 ½”
One color scrap cardstock to match the stamped painting
Adhesive
Paper trimmer
Foam pop dots
Scissors
Stamp cleaner
Stamp your scene on to drawing paper. Do not rock…press evenly. Wait a few minutes.
Color with watercolor pencils including reflections in the water. Color softly and go over darker areas more than once, rather than pressing hard once.

 Use the water brush on the colors.











Trim painted picture and mat to colored scrap. Apply pop dots to back.

Use edge punch on card.
Center and adhere plaid to card front. Adhere narrow plaid strip across the back under the punched edge. Place matted picture centered over the plaid card front and adhere.

This card can be used for any number of occasions, such as Father’s Day or a masculine birthday card.




 Be sure to clean your rubber stamps, with cleaner made for permanent ink.
