Steampunk Doll 5 Card

http://www.mybestiesshop.com/store/p6950/Instant_Download_Steampunk_Besties_digi_stamp__ImgDoll_5.html

Here's a card made using Doll 5 from the new My Besties Steampunk Coloring Book.

I colored this cutie using Copic Markers and matted the design on solid card stock. I adhered the layers on to a black base card.

I added embellishments to the card using the Sizzix Bigz die #656636, to cut gold metallic card stock into gears in my Cuttlebug Machine. These were glued in place.

Hanglar and Wings Two New Cards

I have fallen in love with some new digital stamps! The Hangla and Wings company was originally only making rubber and clear stamps. A while back they offered the this little girl freebie....that was the beginning of the romance! Then this week they sent out notices that they are giving digital stamps a trial run. I went right over there and bought this adorable little boy. There are a few others currently available in time for Easter.

At first all I was interested in was coloring the little girl. Here she is all in Copic Markers:
Yesterday I decided she could use a new dress and so I printed her twice. Once for markers and the other on the printed paper. I cut the smock out of the printed paper and glued it to the cut out of the colored image (I only colored in certain areas where the dress did not cover.) I made a layered mat and adhered the girl to the card on top. I used some gems to embellished the lower right corner of the card.

For the boy, I also wanted to piece him, but I printed him three times. I wanted one to color some areas with Copic Markers and I wanted printed paper for pants and another for a vest sweater. After coloring and cutting the pieces, I glued each in place. The boy is in a scene made with a blue sky background, a cloud die and a grass die. I love the effect I got with the scene and want to make some more in the future.

I hope you like my new cards and will come back to see what I do the next time I get some of these cute images.

Grandma's Story Starter Book 3

Grandma's Story Starter Books

I am a grandma to two of the most adorable kids. I will try anything in my power to keep them and my family safe and happy. As a retired art teacher I enjoy paper crafting. I have made several paper pieced books from chipboard. Originally these were just pretty pictures unrelated to each other, but then I realized there could be a use for them.

The older child, my grandson has been diagnosed in the Autism Spectrum disorder. The child is very bright, doing well in virtual school at home using the computer. He reads aloud with expression, while enjoying reading to his little sister. Because he lacks communication skills and doesn't speak much his comprehension is in question.

Each page of my little books could be a way to draw out the imagination of this type of child, getting him to speak about what he thinks is going on in the page. This child could gain the confidence he might lack.

I colored this adorable image with Copic Markers and cropped the image. I double matted the cropped image and adhered it to a white base card.
