This sweet little pattern watercolor painting was inspired by a tutorial from Cee Cee aka Catherine Cote. She is a mixed media artist, who encourages others to enjoy the process rather than the final results.
I drew these leaves on Canson 140 lb. cold press watercolor paper. I covered the lines with Derwent Inktense pencils and added texture lines at each end of the leaves. Using a wet brush on the Inktense lines I covered each leaf with color. I covered the lines and edges of the leaves using gold Master's Touch Metallic watercolors. The background color was painted using Jane Davenport watercolors. The white dots were done with a white Uni-Ball Sigro Pen.
I enjoyed this change of pace project and will be looking for more project to work on by Cee Cee.
This piece made a lovely greeting card!
